Verification Rewards

Verifiers can earn rewards through three ways:

  • Correct Verifications

  • Bonking Incorrect Verifications

  • Dispute Alerts

Correct Verifications

Verifiers are eligible for rewards when they submit timely and accurate verifications. However, only the first three correct verifications per proposal will receive rewards.

1 point = 0.5 UMA

Bonking Incorrect Verifications

Verifications that are incorrect or incomplete can be bonked. Penalties for bonked verifications depend on the order in which the verification was submitted.

Verifiers who correctly bonk inaccurate verifications are also rewarded, helping to incentivize oversight and maintain high standards.

Dispute Alerts

When a proposal is found to be incorrect or contentious, verifiers can send a Dispute Alert.

Users who send out Dispute Alerts can earn 50 points (25 UMA).

That being said, incorrect alerts, including lazy or bad faith disputes, can be penalized.

Tips

UMA community managers may also tip verifiers for helping out, going above and beyond, and recording correct verifications.

Summary

Verifiers earn rewards by submitting correct verifications, bonking incorrect ones, and sending out dispute alerts. They can also receive tips for going above and beyond, such as helping review verifications. To maintain the integrity of the system, verifiers are held to a high standard, where accuracy and diligence are expected at every step. Mistakes can lead to penalties ranging from the loss of UMA rewards to, in more serious cases, an incorrect market resolution.
