Is the code open source?

Yes. The UMA.rocks voting pool code is available on GitHub.

What is your decision-making process for voting?

Committee members reach a majority consensus on how to vote.

What is your voting philosophy?

Originally, UMA.rocks was centralized, and our team decided every dispute. However, after the Zelensky suit controversy, we realized this was not sustainable. We created the voting committee so answers would come from a group instead of a single entity. Eventually, I plan to withdraw entirely from the committee to avoid conflicts of interest.

We aim to vote for the truth while also considering clarifications from Polymarket. Some argue that UMA should ignore Polymarket clarifications and remain fully independent. However, clarifications usually appear because the original rules were unclear, and they help resolve ambiguity for the final settlement. It is not ideal, but until the process improves, we believe it is necessary to take them into account.

Why implement a voting committee?

A voting committee not only decentralizes UMA.rocks but also makes it easier to vote for the truth. No single person can remain fully unbiased when millions of dollars are at stake. When the stakes are high, it's hard to see what's true and what's not. With a voting committee, responsibility is shared and members can make clearer, more unbiased judgments.

During the Zelensky suit controversy, the pressure on UMA.rocks was so high that we struggled to choose an answer, changing it multiple times before finally agreeing on "No." We never want to be in that situation again, so the next day we decided to implement the voting committee.

Who makes up the voting committee?

UMA.rocks is currently run by a committee of active Polymarket and UMA community members. As of August 2025, the members are JessicaOnlyChild, Nemo, and myself. The full list is kept on GitHub.

How do you engage with stakeholders?

Right now, everything happens on our Discord. We focus on organic growth through word of mouth. We believe that once UMA.rocks controls 10–15% of the staked UMA market, Polymarket users and influencers will start asking, "What is UMA.rocks voting for?" That will generate free attention and create a feedback loop for growth. We are also working on DeFi integrations to reach a wider audience.

How do you see the future of UMA.rocks?

We are looking to add more voting committee members. If you're interested, talk to us on Discord.
