# UMA Oracle

**UMA (Universal Market Access)** is the optimistic oracle Polymarket uses to resolve markets on its international platform.

Here's how it works:

When a market is ready to resolve, users can propose an outcome through the UMA Oracle by posting a **bond, typically $750**. If the proposal goes **unchallenged**, the market resolves to that outcome and the proposer receives their bond back plus a reward.

If the proposal is **disputed**, it goes to a **vote**, where UMA voters determine how the market should resolve. If the proposer **loses**, they lose their bond.
