# Verifying

After a proposal is submitted, it enters a challenge period where users can review whether the proposed outcome is correct.

### What is verification?

Verification is reviewing a submitted proposal during the challenge period. If a proposal appears questionable or incorrect, it can be flagged or disputed before it becomes final.

Verification helps prevent incorrect proposals from being accepted. If an incorrect proposal finalizes, flag it in the relevant resolution discussion channel.

### How to verify a proposal

You can find recently submitted proposals in the **#proposals** channel on the Polymarket Discord or in the [UMA Oracle](https://oracle.uma.xyz/).

Open a proposal to read its submitted answer, description, and other details. Then determine whether the proposed outcome is correct.
