# Summary

Markets resolve through three main steps: an event, a proposal, and an outcome. The event must meet the market's resolution criteria. Once a qualifying event happens, someone can submit a proposal that can be challenged. When the outcome is finalized, it is written onto the blockchain and the market resolves to that outcome.

The resolution process allows users to participate in multiple ways: by proposing answers, challenging proposals, discussing, and voting on outcomes. The full process can take a few hours if there are no challenges, or several days if disputes occur.
