# Asset Prices

Asset price markets resolve based on the price of an asset at a specified time or during a defined period. These can include cryptocurrencies, equities, commodities, and indexes.

### How do they work?

Asset price markets define the conditions that determine which price counts.

Conditions can include:

* **Asset**\
  *Example*: Bitcoin.
* **Price condition**\
  *Example*: Bitcoin reaches $150,000.
* **Measurement**\
  *Example*: The highest price reached during the day.
* **Timeframe**\
  *Example*: Between January 1 and December 31, 2026.

### Resolution Sources

Common resolution sources for asset price markets include:

* **Cryptocurrencies:** Binance, Chainlink, or Pyth
* **Equities:** Pyth or Yahoo Finance
* **Commodities:** Pyth or CME/COMEX
* **Indexes:** Pyth, Yahoo Finance, or The Wall Street Journal

Always check the **market's listed source** — it can affect how the market will resolve.

### What should I be aware of?

* **Price measurements** may use the High, Low, Open, Close, or TWAP.
* **Trading hours and timestamps** can determine which prices qualify.
* **Trading pairs and contracts** can affect which price is used.
* **Missing or unavailable data** may require the use of backup sources.
